I'm not to bothered too much as I had asked Dan to give me some training on the pause command off the chest and given some slightly loose form at the bottom on the final double he made me hold it an extra couples of seconds. Consequently I missed it right at my sticking point 12 or so inches off the chest. It didn't help that my feet kept slipping from under me. The tiles in this section are relatively new and still have a sheen on them that makes them a fraction slippery in some spots.
Regardless I am on track though as I have mentioned previously I am not experienced enough to peak twice in a short period of time so my lifts in a few weeks at States will be just average. I am keeping myself focused on Nationals where I'm hoping to be more relaxed with a competition under my belt.
Tonight was particularly satisfying to try out the new competition benches and I have to say the spotting arm my it a whole lot simpler on a night where there were few guys around so regardless I didn't need a spot as the catch bars were right there check out the pic....
The boys had also put in the work and assembled the Mono lift which is looking somewhat like a transformer ready to fire up. I will start squatting in this from the next session onwards so I get used to setting up without the need to walk it out. Yup I know those of you in other federations will say 'pussy' for not walking it out but hey I lift in GPC and they are the rules so back in your box.
Just look at this big yellow fucker, it actually looks like it was made by CATERPILLAR so from now on its called the CAT!
I have to say that this is without doubt the best training facility in Perth. There are no bullshit trainers with matching polo shirts, no fucking spin class, no numpty's curling in the rack and for me most importantly all of the young bucks are seriously strong.
A good space filled with the newest gear in Perth. Lots of power racks, platforms, new bars, a monolift oh and did I mention the Elitefts Leg Press....oh hell yes. The sled itself ways about 160kg and it allows unilateral work!!

Really the only thing left to make this place complete is my favourite reverse hyper and guess what the boys have that next on the list!! Really no excuse not to come down and meet the crew!
Stay Strong
